Kindness Assembly

Ms. Dillon and a group student leaders are very excited to present a Kindness Assembly to the school on Friday, November 29th, at 10:45AM in the gym. They will be sharing information about bullying awareness and prevention and giving examples of how we should treat each other in the school and on the year. Members of our school community are welcome to join us for this assembly.

School Council Meeting

The St. Michael Corkery School Council will be meeting Tuesday, November 19th from 6:30 to 7:30pm in the Learning Commons. All parents are welcome. The Council is looking for more volunteers and would love to see some new faces at the meeting!

Photo Retakes

Due to the Snow Day last week, the photo retakes will be taken on Thursday, November 21st. If any families have decided not to order the original photos and would like to have new photos taken for their child, if possible, please have the student return the information form that was sent home last week, before they have new photos taken that day. Any student who missed the original photo day will also be able to have their photo taken as well.

Buses Cancelled - Tuesday, November 12, 2019

Due to inclement weather, all school buses and school vans are cancelled for today, Tuesday, November 12, 2019. Schools are open, however parents/guardians are responsible for transportation of students attending open schools at the end of the day.

Remembrance Day Liturgy

On Monday, November 11th, we will be celebrating our Remembrance Day liturgy in the gym at 10:45am. All members of our school community are invited to attend, especially any veterans and those working in uniformed occupations. Poppies will be sold on behalf of the Legion on Monday morning. Primary students who make a donation will receive a sticker, while Junior students who make a donation will receive a poppy that they can pin on their shirts or jackets.

Kindergarten Costume Parade

On Thursday, October 31st all Kindergarten students are invited to wear their costumes for their costume parade through the school. All students in Grades 1-6 are invited to wear orange and black to school on Halloween.

United Way Pumpkin Raffle

Each class will be carving or decorating a pumpkin this week for our United Way Pumpkin Raffle on Thursday, October 31st in the Learning Commons. All students are invited to bring in money for tickets to win one of the pumpkins. Tickets are 50 cents and all funds raised will be going to the United Way.

Progress Reports and Interviews

The students’ progress reports will be sent home on Wednesday, October 30th. Parents and teachers will have the opportunity to discuss the progress their children are making at our interviews on Thursday, November 14th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Parents will be able to sign up for interviews on our school website on Monday, November 4th.

Federal Election Voting

Our school gym will be closed on Monday, October 21st, as it is being used as a polling station for the Federal election. There will be a security guard at the school to help guide the voters to and from the polling station and voters will only have access to the washrooms that are connected to the gym, which the students will not be using.
